How can I install CGI scripts? Our servers have the capability to run CGI scripts
based on Perl, and Perl is a our language of choice - it is a world standard and is well
suited to CGI. In addition, Perl code does not require manual compilations whereas C/C++
code must be compiled on our Web servers prior to use.
All of our web hosting packages are
setup with a Cgi-Bin, if for some reason you don't see one on your site, you may create
your own CGI-BIN directory, in order to have a CGI BIN activated all you have to do is
create a folder called Cgi-Bin and it will automatically become scripts activated.
What is the function of the CGI-bin directory?
The Cgi-Bin directory is the
location within a domain site, where CGI scripts are placed, if you wish to execute them.
What directories may I execute CGI applications from?
The "Cgi-Bin"
directory, located in your root directory. You cannot create another Cgi-Bin elsewhere, or
your CGI scripts will not function.
Do you provide Technical Support for CGI or Perl?
As a web hosting company, Arizonahost does
not provide technical support for CGI/Perl scripts, nor do we provide technical support
for other scripting/HTML or design oriented subjects. These subjects take many hours or
even years to master and are better handled by the schools, books and magazines
Any questions not answered here, can be forwarded to Support@arizonahost.com
